Look at this motor mount!!

My car was shaking like crazy, so I changed out my mounts. The first one looked a little worn, but not really that bad. This is the remainder of the second one, and the culprit of my problem. Thought it was worth posting.

Did you have any problem getting the 8mm bolt started from the bottom side?

Looked like mine

That looked like the ones that were on my car when I bought it! How were the engine shocks? Mine were both missing the lower bolt.

To remove the mounts, the best way is to put the car on ramps, then use a jack to slightly lift the engine off the mounts. This takes the weight off the bolts and lets you remove them pretty easily. I had no trouble removing the bolts on mine...

Thats good to hear. I need to do both of my motor mounts an I'm pretty sure that the drivers side mount is in two pieces at this point.

Yep, that was definitely the drivers side one. Oddly, the car didnt even shake bad until about 2 weeks before I replaced the mount. Of course, starting it up after the fix made us laugh like crazy, I could barely tell the car was running!

Yes, it was horrible until we figured it out-- the rubber on the new mount sticks to everything so even if you move the engine around the bolt isnt aligned properly. You have to make sure you are manipulating the new mount as well and not just the engine. I wish I could explain it better, but I can't.
