Oldnavy,

Congrats on your new purchase. That CDI sure is sweet!

Now, I have one question: How are you going to keep the cars with their current drivers from changing places?

Congrats! There are still some gassers that I want to get my hands on, but my goal for the near future is 50% oil burner

Kinda bummed to hear your experience with your Liberty CRD. I was semi-considering one to replace my Wrangler even though it's on the smaller side. The fact that it was a diesel was a main factor. Guess I'll scratch that one off the list.

The diesel is the only reason we bought the Jeep and then all the problems started coming to the top, but I was willing to work with it and get everything iron out. Then Jeep canx the VM Motorie diesel which liked being knocked down in a fight, but the kick in the jewels was the MB & Chrysler split.

I paid too much for the MB, but then anyone who buys a MB diesel pays too much for the car. The retail value of an 05 CDI is about $8000 more then an like eqipped gasser and for good reason. How many 200k mile gassers would you buy and not worry about driving it across the country? Only ones I have seen were MB diesels, includding the '83 240D I had and the '91 the wife is now driving.

Yeah, about 15 years ago I bought my 83 240d maple yellow with stick. It had about 190k on it. I changed the oil and filters and was planning to leave for a fishing trip to Canada the next day about 2K round trip. My mrs says..."Are you sure you want to take off on a trip with that car which you have owned one day?....I said No problem....and it was not.

Nothing more bulletproof than an 83 240d stick.

I just saw your thread at LostKJ's this afternoon, and the first thing I thought was "now he'll be spending more time at Mercedesshop." And here you are.

Hope you're having fun with the new E, but really sorry to lose you from the KJ club.

I'll still me hanging out there on the LOSTkj and will stay as a moderator unless they ask me to step down because I don't own a Jeep. I like talking diesel and oil stuff, alwayys have, always will.
