Changed glow plugs, oil

No difference, actually, the thing seems to be running worse as I think some air got into the system as I had to unscrew the lines into the injection pump to get to the #2 glow plug. It now sounds like I have some issues with injector nailing, as the car is much noisier now. Man, my fingers are trashed today. I have been hunting around the forum and it seems that injection pump seals can cause some of the symptoms I have. Is this true? I am going to try all possibilities before removing the head to see if its cracked. Thanks!

Yes, you might have gotten air in the system. With the engine running, unscrew the injector line nuts at the base of the IP until fuel starts coming out a bit, then re-tighten and repeat for all injectors.
Now that you have the glow plugs out of the way, keep with the oil changes. You can also take off the crossover pipe and clean out all the oily gunk. Simple job but a messy and not always necessary. Just be patient and keep running the engine hard under load and the blue idle smoke should clear up.

play in the steering?

could use an adjustment in the steering box, car could be drifting due to slack at steering gear box

Update: Bad Turbo Seals

When messing around with the car today, I started it up and a few puffs of smoke arose from the turbo area. Thus, I am pretty convinced that I have bad turbo seals, which would explain why I am getting the blue smoke. I imagine that the engine can handle burning a bit of oil when its at speed, but that at idle it makes it choke. Sound reasonable? Also, anyone know a site that sells turbo rebuild kits for a 300sdl? Thanks a bunch for the help.

the kkk turbo and garret turbos are very common. i would look on ebay for your specific turbo.
