Yet another tach question

Does any one have a wiring diagram for a 300 cd or 300d. I have an 84 CD and the cluster was gone when I got it. Now Im trying to get the tach to work and got one out of another car. mine has the 3 wire plug and the replacement I got has 2. So I got another one with the 3 wire plug but it only has 2 wires in it. My cars plug has 3 wires in the plug, one red/black, one white and one brown/hwite. Anybody have any clue??? Ive done the search and everyone asks for a diagram but I cant find one.

The tach with the three wires, male prongs? On the back of the tach, the middle prong is a ground that is plated through to the metal bracket. Hope this helps some, anyway.

On the two wire tach one is power (red/black wire to fuse #12) and the other get the signal from the tach amp (green/black).

See post #2 in this link:
Adding a tach to a 300TD

I used this info to install a tach from an 83 300D in my 84 euro wagon that has an rpm sensor but no tach or tach amp.

Don't know if you can accomplish. Different set ups. With the two pronger, you'll need an amp. And maybe different harness. Good luck.
