Angry Down agian... second time this week!!!

Well im sure you all ready about my clutch being in-op. so i replace the slave thinking its the logical choice seeing as i replaced the master only a year ago. So everythings fine for 2 days.. then.. clutch pedal has a little play in it.. no big deal, i think its my imagination.

This morning i was going to go and have the trans fluid changed at our local shop (short on time) and go to put it into reverse and i get grinding??? try putting it into 4th and grinding, i did this cause on tuesday when this happened 4th also ground..

So i hope its the Master agian.. I ordered one and it should be here this afternoon. unfortunately im going to have to wake up at the crack of down to install it cause yet agian i have work. Looks like ill be taking the ehhhhh Buick to work today... Which i was planning on anyways seeing as im working in a really crappy neighborhood today and wouldn't want to risk my Benz getting messed with

if its not the master.... What else could it be??? how else could air be getting in the lines? Brakes work fine to the best of my knowledge..

Sorry to hear of the problem reoccurring. The fluid level is still up?? It's curious that it would work for a while and then fail. Its a simple system with just the master and one slave. Are you going for an OEM master this time?

some one told me once that you should replace the slave and master at the same time as a pair, due to junk in the lines or something like that.

wow... i really know how to kill eh'. So i was heading back from work at like 1:30 am and decided that since i had just got paid (cash) that i better deposit it....

Well so im driving the buick (2001 regal) and i turn it off cause im gonna be at the atm for a second and don't want to waste gass or have someone jump in and take it. So i get back in.. and the car acts like its dead

I should state that before this i stoped at the gas station to get a drink and when i came back out and restarted it, it was fine, then all the hazard lights came on and went off, so i think nothing of this until now

i was out there for 45 mins with a friend trying to jump this beast and i could get it to turn over, but only a little bit, and then it would start clicking... UHHHGGG i should be aloud to drive

Did you double check the res to be sure you have brake fluid?

Sometimes you can get by by pumping the clutch a few times then avoiding holding it in too long by putting the car into neutral and letting the clutch out. This is symptomatic of a badly worn clutch master.

I'd say it is either one of the above, most likely.

A little more detail in your description would help with our ability to diagnose.

the lights flashing, and a jump only gets the starter to click... your battery has bit the dust. it may have even taken out the alternator with it.....

The Mercedes should have a new master today. the part is in, and i drove it today to jump start the regal. Yea the master has bit the dust. I was double clutching every gear ,and forget about reverse or 4th! But that was ok cause the Buick was only 5 miles down the road and speed only reach 45.

I think the battery is toast on the Buick, however i did get it started by jumping it from the Mercedes. Its weird cause i was trying to jump it last night with my friends Intrepid (hahumm.. POS...) and no avail, it would turn over then click and all the normal "dead battery" things. However, about 1 min. on the Benz and she cranked to life. Love my Mercedes... so versatile and handy

When i got the Buick home though, i turned it off then tryed to turn it back on.. and it was completely dead... Ohh well i think the battery is the original I must have been really pushing that alternator cause i had the fog lights and stereo on (cause of the rain.... the lights) and the only thing i noticed was the digital gear selector/odometer was flickering a little. ahh well

The Benz should be back up tonight. I have a good feeling about it this time considering the current master was the only one autozone offered (which was only 64$$) this one that i ordered however is not a cheapy and hopefully will last me more than a year

Sorry for the long post... it has been a long night/very early morning
