fuel filter change question- help!
Could someone just explain to me quickly how to change the spin-on fuel filter. I can't find a pictorial for it anywhere.
My car is a 350SDL. The new fuel filter I have comes with 2 O-rings. Where do these two O rings go? I am also doing a diesel purge. Can someone tell me if I can change both these filters BEFORE the purge - wouldn't that better prime the system than changing them both after? Thanks, Tyler |

the "spin on" filter is actually held on by a bolt. I think it is a 22mm loosen it up, pull the bolt out and wriggle the filter out. the two washers go on the bolt. fill the filter up with diesel, reverse process. crank away.
Do the DP THEN change the filters, that way any much you knock out goes into the old filter. THIS (link) from dieselgiant is an excellent write up on how to do a DP. and it works very well too.
