Are these axles/cv's any good?

I picked up a couple of used axle shafts that looked in good shape but upon inspection I found that one of the cv's on one of the axles is loosey goosey!
All the other three joints feel engages and take effort to turn in their orbit. This other one moves sloppy with little effort and doesn't feel especially locked in....if that makes any sense. I'm wondering if it's shot or fine? Seems like a dud to me but I'm not too familiar.
Also I was wondering if left and right half axles are interchangable with each other? If not is there an easy way to differentiate between the two?
Hope help is out there
Cheers
HIMMM

Axleshafts are not side specific. I have no idea about your two current extras, however, if three joints feel the same, and a fourth is noticeably different, I would also be wary of it.

Thanks JL, I guess I can slap one good one on this afternoon. Anyone else know what's up with the sloppy cv?

You are going to want to wait until you can install them both at the same time, unless you just want to drain the diff, unseal the rear diff housing, reseal and refill twice....

Yeah Roger that! Haha! I had to fight to get the day off to tackle the buggers and I was p*ssed to find out I had a dud. I'm not touching it until I get a replacement ... and even after that i think I might treat myself to one of those wonderful "pay someone else to worry about it" experiences. I'm concluding that the thing probably got busted up while being shipped ...they're heavy and it sounds like the cv's a quite delicate against a good knock. They have a 6 month money back so I'm not in a bad spot besides a day lost .
Many thanks for the shout out though!
