What are people doing as PM for power windows and sunroof

ARe there any tricks to keeping the power windows working??

Sunroof??

Well, the sunroof track can be lubed to make it slide easier, and I suppose that would help to prevent any sort of failure.

As for the power windows, if they start making a screeching noise, leave them where they are so you don't ruin the glass. Not exactly PM, but hey.

You should clean and lube the sunroof mechanisum every few years, use only MB grease.

Their is no service recomendation for the power windows.

Nah crank windows suck, I grew up with them on my moms Olds. Power windows are the best, one touch that go up with a key fob would be even better!:D

Best to have a set of window glides ready if replacement is necessary.
After I got the door panels off to access the gears for the window mechanism, I sprayed WD40 on the window guides and in the tracks to free up the old grease and mud buildup. Don't worry too much about the glass, you can clean that up with windex later.

Have alot of Qtips handy to clean the gunk from the tracks. Paper towels help too. Be patient. Some areas are really hard to reach unless you remove the hardware from the door. Look carefully at the wear on the guides. I used lithium grease on the tracks and gears of the window mechanism. Since I did not have to remove the mechanism, I used the lithium grease with a hose attachment to get down into the gears.

This is a good time to check condition of you door check straps too.
