Dot 3 in a Dot 4 car?
I repalced my brake fluid in my 84 MB 300D with DOT 3 and then noticed later the master cylinder cap say to use DOT 4 - what is the difference between the two and what or how does it make a difference to use insteed of the other. Is it best to drain system and reboot with DOT 4?

Dot 4 has a higher boiling point than dot 3. Flush it out and replace.
You can probably get away with Dot 3, but I personally wouldn't take the chance. |

i replaced mine with dot3&4 mix, so im not sure if theres that much of a difference. However, when i just bleed the brake system yesterday, i found some pure Dot4 brake fluid, somthing i couldn't find the last time.
