Need help with cooling system

I don't know how a fin broke from the fan cluch and thus damaging the radiator on my 99 300diesel. I need to replace the fan cluch and radiator, I don't know if that is an easy job or better leave to the professionals. I'm pretty handy with a wrench. I have replaced the radiator on my 87 300d but the on the 99 is a little tight and the fan cluch is different. Any suggestions will be apreciated.

You would start by pulling the cross member above the radiator, the shroud, and then the radiator. After that the job is pretty straight forward.

Geez....My brain is disconnected. Wasnt thinking about the "other stuff" connected to the radiator.

The trans requires MB only SYN fluid. No substutions. Is very particular about fill level. No dip stick in tube; is factory sealed and dip stick is a "shop tool" with hot and cold fill levels. Need to know temp of trans oil when refilling as that fluid is highly expansive. You may or may not have a drain plug on your torque converter. My 99 does, some dont.

Sans dip stick tool and way to accurately measure oil temp, some will precisely measure the amount of fluid that is removed cold and replace with like amount at room temp. Dealer uses SDS to access trans temp and dip stick to verify fill level.
