Miles and Trip Odometer stoped on cluster.
Could anyone tell me how to fix the odometer, if the total miles and trip miles stopped around 8 years ago, but everything else seems to work?
Can it be fixed without getting an entire cluster? How would you fix it if I kept this cluster? If I need an entire cluster how do I go about rolling back the miles, since it reads 180k and the inspection says 180k? (car just came up from FL 8 months ago) Thanks |

Do a search on odometer repair
There are gears inside the odometer that can come loose from the shaft they ride on. Search for odometer repair. There is a good tutorial on how to fix this problem. In my case, a spring came off the trip odometer reset lever, but I never lost the regular odometer.
If you need a new speedometer let me know, I am going to the pick-a-part this week and there is a 300D in the yard... Good luck!

If you do, make sure it's from another '85. The speedometers are axle ratio dependent. The '85's had different rear axle ratios from the other years.
