Arrow Look whats behind the EGR after 200k...

I am installing Brian C's kit (which has gone perfectly) for EGR removal testing.

Popped the EGR itself off and found the attached picture. I am actually going to have to scrape some of it down to be able to seat the flat blocking plate. I think it was stuck *slightly* open. does this look worse/normal than other folks' EGRs?

The intake manifold must be all gunked up like this too. Id imagine taking that off would take some time.

The EGR port always looks nasty. I'd bet you'd find the rest of the intake is not as grim as that port looks.
