DIY 722 transmission rebuild 1984 300D ?

I want took take on a rebuild of the 722 .3 or .4 ) transmission in a 1984 300D and am looking for manuals , tutorials, diy tips etc to study several months in advance .
I have ordered the ASTG manual and followed that ru link here . I have searched around here and have found some great information but probably did not find it all . Would some of you please post tips / suggestions for this procedure ? -
