engine transplant.

can a 6cylinder 603 engine fit into a 240d? and does it mate up to the 123 manual transmisison?

1981 240d (engine donor 1983 240d) recently rebuilt engine hurray! - No more.. fought a tree and the tree won.

pearl black 1983 240d 4speed (Converted!@$$%) atleast the tranny was rebuilt.

you can make anything fit... look at spandex... you'd never think some of the things in there should fit but, oh they do.

as for the transmission i have no clue

You would be better of with the correct transmisson. It CAN fit but will take mods of course. There are some Finns who put a 606 in there.

Yes, it will fit with some custom engine mounts.
No, it won't mate up to the W123 manuals. You would have to use one from a W201 or W124.

If you are serious about performance, automatic is the way to go. The saying around Dodge/Ford/GM diesel pickups is automatic for playing, manual for real life.
