Door handle problem.

I've been having some issues with the lock on my passenger side doorhandle (300CD), so I took it out this morning to clean up and re-lube.
I've already done this with the drivers side, and I distinctly remember that handle stayed sprung--the handle would return to closed position automatically. The passenger side handle just stays pulled out. The spring doesn't seem to be under tension; can someone confirm that this looks correct or incorrect?
