Who's buying the E300s in the SF Bay Area?

There was a silver/black 97 E300 with 80K miles for $11,500 at Fremont Honda. Sold by the time I called.

There was a silver/gray 96 E300 with 120K miles for $10,000 at a lot in Redwood City. Sold by the time I called.

Someone please give me a break!

Just think of it as them doing you a favor so that you end up with a turbo.

I too would go with the '98 & '99 Turbo

There are very few of these out there for these two model years, total of less than 8,000. Not many around but worth the wait, I believe.

But to "officially" answer your question, it was not I, simply sought after rare models, with just a few crazy folks like us out there chomping at the bit, so be patient as they say.

Sixto -- Did you see this E300D on Shopforum in Ohio?

Dunno if it's what you're looking for.

Ohio and California perception of rust is very different! No offense to snowbelters but often no rust means no visible rust on painted surfaces but five times as much torque to undo suspension bolts than spec to tighten them.

I just a '99 with 69,000 miles from a little old lady (literally, she was 87) who has been servicing the car with amsoil synthetic since 2001! I may be selling due to other interests, it's a sweet car and super clean. I grabbed it immediately, e300's go fast!

The "too slow" phrase doesn't work when you're talking to a 240D owner

I donnow, the N/A 95 I drive daily is plenty fast for most driving situations. A 5/6 speed manual would be better, but... this whole quick acceleration for a daily driver is grossly overrrated. People do crap they shouldnt. When I need speed, I take the Chevelle to the track and try and squeeze 11.9X 1/4 mile ETs out of it. SAFELY, AT MY RISK.

Performance here, to me, means 700 miles on a tank of fuel.

With a turbo, the 606.910 should be a fine motor. I dig it without.

Thanks for the offer, Lux. This gets into my personal nuances - no black or red cars, no cars with black or red interior...

That's not leather but I prefer tex on high miles cars.

Looks like the ATF fill locking plug is colored black. All the replacements I've seen are red.

I wonder if it's running on its original ATF? Probably as black as the car by now, eh?
