I've got to guess thats not exactly a "low horsepower" model....did you notice it smoking the rear wheels when he floored it in reverse? Its most likely a 280e or something...not exactly a slow car. I know its at least a gasser, because there's no way a N/A Euro 300D could smoke its wheels in reverse....

Actually from the location in Europe I would actually be ready to bet it is a 230E or a 250 instead of a 280E. The grunt of the car is too high pitched to be the straigh 6. It is definitively not a diesel.

Air vents are black plastic, tail-lights are chromed (this eliminates pre-1980 cars and 200, 230 carburated, and 240D). From the front picture it looks like the square headlights.

The car is missing trim on both the driver-side doors.

the sound of the car is usually dubbed in after filming....can't really tell by that.

too bad it's not badged... it would be nice to know what it is. and that scene where the truck is bashing it, totally un realistic. those euro bumpers would not last any time with that kind of abuse. cool nonetheless.

Everyone hates on the NA, I have no doubt a manual NA 300D could spin some tires in reverse.

Definitely a gasser, it appeared to have duel exhaust tips. Who knows what engine it had in it for the movie.

Not unrealistic at all. A car hit in motion will not sustain as much as if it were stationary. It did have some fairly serious damage in one shot showing crumpling of the rear quarter and a bent lid.
