Any good hi flo 2 into 1 cats?

HAPPY 4TH Y"ALL!

Just had a new exhaust put on my 95, non eom, and the cat not only makes noise internally, but its bottling up the system.

Anyone have a good 2 into 1 hi flow cat, manufacturer & p/n?

When I take it back to the muffler shop, I'm going to tell them exactly which to put on!
No they wont put a straight blend pipe on!

So far I have a Magnaflow 94007, & Dyno max 15022 ( hi flo) but its not diesel specific.

Car now rattles like some cheesy "American" subcompact.

Cant have that.

TIA.

Why even have a cat? Get a straight pipe to replace it.

Straight pipe the whole thing, all the way back to a muffler.

Does this car have dual exhuast like the gas I6's or is it a single?

CANNOT REMOVE CAT. I thought I made that clear. Unless I jury rig it myself after dropping $440 for a system. Like the cat repalced with one that is less restrictive and dont freaking hum.

Dual head pipes into a cat, then single all the way through. Went with 2.5".

The cat MUST be diesel specific or it will plug with soot and be damaged by the sulfur.

Yeah, you made it clear after we posted our responses.
I can see that by your edit time compared to our post times.

And, from what I read on the Tech Forum, everyone who has used an aftermarket cat wishes that they hadn't.....

Just get the cheapest one you can and rod the heck out of the core until it's straight through.

Better yet, take old one, rod it out and stick a straight pipe in it. You won't have a loud rumble coming out of that thing if you do.

A catalytic converter is completely pointless on a diesel, and a gas one will just be destroyed very quickly. Straight pipe to the muffler, thats all you need. Diesels do not need cats.

Buy one from the dealer of Phil. Timevalve also sells very nice stainless exhuast systems. They are located in CT, I don't have there contact info handy.

I think the cat bottles up the engine somewhat. BUT, less smell, less smoke ( bio is in the fuel mix, it may be that).

I'll run this one for a bit before I have them replace it. Seems like even though output is low, diesels have a "higher exhaust volume per ft lbs" over a gasser. Definitely wnat a high flow cat up there, especially way upstream like that, where exhaust gas pressures and temps are highest.

Have a buddy that can make up a scavenging collector, out of stainless. Wonder if there would be any interest in those around here?

Clark, where am I going , Cali??? Its WORSE!
