Need a non-contact IR thermometer near New Haven, CT

I'm trying to diagnose some problems with the cooling system on my 84 300TD turbo and would like to find a forum member near New Haven, CT with a non-contact IR thermometer so I can get some temperature readings off:

1) cylinder head at temp sensor
2) water pump housing
3) upper radiator hose
4) lower radiator hose

I know I could buy one, but I'm trying to save some money for the parts I will eventually need.

Thanks,

Doug

Wow! That's an incredibly generous offer, but not necessary. If it came down to it, my father has one that he could ship to me.

I just figured that there must be someone on the forum with one, within driving distance.

Doug, I know my father has one but he's out on Block Island for the week and may very well have it with him on the boat. I'll go forage through his garage during my lunch break at noon and I'll let you know. I'm just south of Hartford.

I'd buy one if I were you. I think I paid around $40 for mine at Harbor Freight. Not only did it improve my automotive diagnostics, it improved my cooking and medical diagnostics. I put it on a friends inflammed knee and sure enough, it was hotter than the good one. My french fries are now reliably exquisite. A mighty useful instrument.

I think I pretty much just burned mine out messing with the cat and the laser site pointer. I keep getting readings in the negative 500-600 degree range unless I push the max temp button. I changed the batteries but that didn't help.

i do the same stuff. except i use it to test women too. if their skin temp is below mine i don't talk to them cause they are not hot enough. i think it is funny that water boils at 198* in denver. no wonder the food takes so long to cook, and the dryness requires more water for cooking.

I was going to propose that function. Walk into a bar, take some serreptitious readings of the women, start talking to them and see if the temperature rises in crucial regions.
Anyone experimented with skin temperature readings during various stages of sexual arousal?

This requires a post and discussion in OD.
