E320 CDI AC performance

Can anyone that lives where it's stinkin' hot vouch for the AC performance of this car? Mercedes and BMW are not known for great AC systems, but I was hoping for some improvement, especially regarding the temperature at the vent and how long it takes to cool the car off. One last question associated with the above; does the engine temp creep up much with the AC on and stop-and-go traffic?

Thanks,

Jason

Do you own one with a problem or are you just wondering how well they cool? I have ridden in a 2003 c220 cdi and the A/C was extreme, it'd freeze your face off if you weren't careful!!! My guess is the e320 also has mega powerful A/C.....

Just curious on the performance, though I plan getting one in the next 12 months. My 1992 300D 2.5 is only so-so, even after a rebuilt system and an R12 recharge. Thanks for the insight on the C220 CDI; anyone else have direct experience that would indicate otherwise?

We own an 05 320 CDI down here in south Georgia. Think 90-100's with 300% humidity. It will frost your butt. We just completed a 1500 mile trip down to the Florida Keys and the temp never varied at all. Test drive one and you will buy it!!!

I've got at 2006 E320 CDI all I can say is that you can hang meat in this thing if you want. In fact it is in the low 90's here today and the car has been more than comfortable.

May I suggest that if your AC is not putting out cold air you take it back to the dealer and get it looked at. I've yet to be hot in any Benz!
