Acid engine flush

I searched all through the DIY pages on this subject and found out how to do it but no where did any one discuss the water/citric acid ratio. Can anyone help me with this information.
Thanks
John

FSM job #20-015 for the 617 says 10% solution; 100gm of citric acid/1 liter water. FWIW.

Just to echo what jbaj007 said: its a 10% weight:volume ratio.

That about 13.5 oz per gallon.

A little higher or lower ratio won't hurt anything.

Brian Carlton says to just put 2.2 lbs of the CA into hot water, and pour it into the block. then top with water, and drive the car for 100 miles and get it really mixed into the radiator and heater core. be sure to degrease first, and flush rinse several times between steps and when done.

Correct. The system holds about 10L of fluid............thereby needing 1000g of citric acid............which just happens to be 2.2 lbs.

I've used muriatic acid in other iron engine block head combos with excellent results. This was on some terribly neglected cooling systems where the coolant had looked like mud. I've only eyeballed the amounts. Never needed to do this on a MB engine though.
