Lockup torque converter in 300D?

I have a 1991 300TD 603.960 engine with 722.357 tranny and was wondering if there is any way to update to a lockup torque converter?

Thanks!

I'd like one with my OM617.952 That would be like a 5 speed automatic, then add a 2.88 rear diff. That would really improve the fuel economy of my w123.

the lockup converter is controlled by a fluid passage thats in the the input shaft and a valve that is electronically controlled in the valve body so I dont think it would be possible to make it work
