To each his own, I just don't really like any of their recent designs. Maybe I just an old guy.

Looks like overpriced cheap quality. Probably flies like a bat out of hell, though.

you want a fast gas guzzler with limited quality in fit/finish... go get a Shelby GT500. It'll make your heart thump, but I also have a soft spot for the older Mercedes. I have to admit my 124 doesn't look quite as nice as the 123s but it was what fell into my lap.

Thats pretty insulting IMHO to compare a CLS with a Shelby GT500.
The CLS is a faster better handling car thats built just as good as any. The new MB's are nice because they are stiffer, quiter, and don't creak and rattle like the old cars. The Shelby can't hold a candle to the CLS in any respect.

Personally, I would buy a 6.3 to go fast in a benz, or a late 70s 911 for a sports car.

I wish I owned a Hacker...
The last two items of my signature are on a wish list. Maybe I'll buy a '68 Bonnie sooner or later. I'd love to own a Hacker but I don't have the resources right now.
The attached pictures are from the Hacker restoration boatyard about a half hour from my house. The owner said he would maybe hire me part- time since he knows I want to be around the boats so much. Incidently, there are Garwoods also restored/reconstructed to original specs. about 45 minutes in the other direction from me by the Turcotte brothers. I live in a hot spot for these boats and I'm very lucky to see them often. There's nothing like 16 coats of clear epoxy on gleaming mahogony to exude craftsmanship and quality in quiet and graceful dignity, plus all that power to boot. They used to run Liberty airplane engines in them back in the day and if you've never heard them its a wicked feeling; this is coming from a nerdy book type. Search 'Pardon Me runabout' under google images. Howz 'bout the worlds largest runabout for ya... I saw it at its home in the antique boat museum in Clayton NY. Its maiden launch was a huge deal with rides given to members of the museum and other staff on hand. Silver Cloud (I think that's the name) was there, Al Capones old boat plus many others. Anyway, I don't know how to highlight the respective areas for an accurate and proper response but here's hoping you catch it. Just for gee-whiz check out my avatar, search google images for 1930 MB Count Trossi it is such an awesome machine of you like the shape of mahagony boats plus a little zepplin thrown in for fun, almost Bugatti-ish.
