I am trying to buy tie rod ends for my '80 240D and it is offering two different chassis number ranges: 359275 and 046101-359274. How do i know where my car falls in these ranges? My VIN is WDB12312312194785. Thanks for any help.

It refers to the last 6 digits of the vin, therefore you want the one for 046101 to 359274.
