Great MB Ad
That's been my favorite for some time - it pretty much says it all without saying very much.
Chokes me up. And I might be looking at a W115 this weekend....
aparently someone didn't change the oil that often and never fixed the rust ..jk
awesome commercial though watch out for that rust on those W115's |
Very Sad
My brother bought a 1969 220D from a German who had owned the car for over 20 years. My brother said the guy cried when he sold it.
Wow, I got a little teary eyed there. I'm just getting ready to sell my white w115 300d this week too.
I always did like that ad.
Ok everyone I know just made fun of me for shedding a tear.... Glad to know my like minded souls on the shop forum feel the same way.
:(
The windshield cracking is heartbreaking. |

Shouldn't it have come back as a new E-class? I mean, the W114/115 evolved into the 123, that evolved into the 124, and so on and so on until the W211.
The old way of classic vehicles is confusing..
the 200 class was entry level really = C Class 300 series was mid level = E Class S=.. S class then the SL's and SLC. etc |
I too have liked that commercial from the day I first saw it.... I too almost shed tears over it! :(
But the "Soul" lives on! :) |
I was admiring a new E-Class at the dealership and the salesman tried to sell me it.. I was like.. sorry not interested.. I'm just admiring its heritage and am happy in my "E Class"
Pssh... you don't have an E-class, you have a D-class.
Just kidding, that's what one of my friends told me and i had a good laugh. |
