After converting my 300SD to a manual transmission, China became a redundant vehicle. I have no idea what its worth since prices are all over the place. So I decided to let it go on bringatrailer.com at no reserve.

It would be great to see one of the forum "legend cars" stay in the family, so bid if you would like. It starts at $100.

nice, $8075!

i think this is a great price for the seller, and the buyer is getting a solid, transparent vehicle. with rusted out toyota pickups going for 10k regularly (they made 2 million of those too!) it's good to see the value of the diesel 123 getting some better recognition.

I way undersold it years ago, and they are getting more scarce. I had not gone through a W123 in several years. Some parts, like nice headlight doors, are becoming unobatnium.

China blue is also the color to have in a Mercedes of this era. I've seen a 380SL in that color sell for almost $40,000. If it were white or any other color, it would be lucky to see a third of that.

The car is on its way to Texas again. The new owner, Tyler, says he will update us on the car. I hope so.

Nice to see that China is coming back to Texas!!
I can promise you the family that went to Germany to buy China would be pleased with this. She was an important car to them. To me too....
What part of Texas will she be going to?

Tyler sold it to Tyler ? LOL
There are places it could go which would be safer for it... Austin drivers are crazy tailgaters... they care not when the weather makes roads slicker... and the traffic in Austin is now terrible due to bad city planning on roads...
Not good signs for a ' not so fast ' accelerating car.... some of the on ramps to the freeways are way too short for safety. Good Luck to the new Tyler and her.
