spilling refrigerant oil when reinstalling compressor

So I put the frigi-quiet into the compressor on my 1985 300 SD and turned it by hand a good bit. But how in the world do you put this thing back on without spilling all of the oil out?

The AC guide from diesel giant doesn't mention it. Anyone have any quick advice for me? I am trying to get this thing back together.

The oil should be injected at the same time refrigerant is put in.

I was reading where it should be pre-filled before installation.

Is this the wrong way to do it?

Put some plastic plugs into the intake and discharge ports while installing the compressor.

That did not work for me as the manifold lines would not allow me enough room to remove the plugs. On both cars I have done I have just poured it down the low pressure hose after the compressor has already been installed.
Folks warn about doing that, but I can't see the difference between pouring it into the compressor, or pouring it into the line and letting it run into the compressor, as that is what happens.
I made a heck of a mess trying to install a pre-filled compressor.

i guess i will have to spill some, but i feel like i will spill it all before i get the lines on enough to stop the flow. i thought i should just check everyone's experience since the guide recommends a particular amount and i have no idea how much has spilled.

thanks for the input.

-_- just install the comporessor and pour the oil in the suction line. then spin the compressor a few times before you add refrigerant.

Here is exactly what I did and I did not spill a single drop:

1. Disconnect upper side of compressor hoses
2. remove compressor with hoses attached
3. remove hoses and old compressor oil from compressor on bench
4. flush hoses
5. add refrigerant oil to compressor on bench
6. rotate a bunch each direction on bench
7. install hoses to compressor and tape off upper end of hoses - on bench (keep hoses up)
8. with hoses attached to compressor, feed upper part of hoses up from under car into position
9. attach compressor to car
10. attach ends of hoses to rest of system (change o-rings while your at it)

It has been a couple of weeks now and the a/c is still working fine.
