RPM Guage Issues
My 1983 300TD just had a Freon refill and life was sweet. 5 days later, start the car & the guage wasn't working and when I turned on the A/C, all I got was hot air. Later in the day, started the car, guage was working fine and so was the A/C. Anybody have a clue where I should begin to troubleshoot the situation?

Check your fuses.

Does the '83 have the overvoltage protection relay? With the fuse on top? I'd start there.

Mine did the same thing a couple of weeks ago (on my 82), both the tach stopped working and the monovalve lost power (full heat). The problem was fuse #14, here is the post:
