Ok guys, clarification.. The delay on the light is NOT in the seatbelt "annoying buzzer thing" it's in the lamp itself.

Second, no, he doesn't have the Dual Lamp.. He'd know if he did.. That is a much later feature. My 84 has it only because I retrofit it in from a 91...... And that too is entirely self-contained.

Finally, as far as the difference in delay times people experience; unless I miss my guess this is just a simple 555 style timer circuit using an RC network.... As the eletronics age, it will throw off the time delay from new condition......

I just disassemble my light assembly to make sure. You are correct, the delay circuit (small board with a capacitor) is inside the light assemble. However, the circuit from the drivers door switch actually runs through the "annoying buzzer thing" (actually the Seat Belt Warning Relay), I know this because mine had a burned circuit strip that was affecting the light. I also was incorrect when I said the delay was only for the drivers door, it actually works for both front doors (but only the drivers door switch is associated with the relay).

Sorry for the incorrect info, my memory isn't as good as I think it is sometimes.
