blending conventional oil with synthetic?

Has anyone ever done this? I've always heard never to blend oils, even different brands. Basically I wont have time to change mine in the morning, but it needs a little, and all I have is synthetic, it has dino oil in it now. just wonderin if it would be any harm to add just a bit or should I just stop and get some dino.

A little bit won't hurt to top it up. But, it's best to pick one type and brand of oil and stick with it.

Mixing different types and brands of oils may cause conflict with their additive packages that could reduce or alter the additives intended function.

I do it. I cannot say for sure if it is good or bad, but I know others who do it too.

I have been running half rotella and half mobil one for diesels in my cummins.

Guys!!??? Just about every oill out there has their version of blended synthetic/dino oil..... Motor oils have to meet car manufactuirer's specs so they all have to meet a standard. Some exceed it.

IMO, as long as this standard is met, oil is oil.

They are also in control of the entire process. They can formulate the additives they put in it specifically for that blend they make.
