How do you set the timing 83 300 sd

I know I am suppose to do a search. I have tried to do that and have not been able find the answer. I am going to attempt to do a valve adjusment today and want to check the timing as well. is there anything else that I should do or check while am doing the valve adjustment?

What timing do you want to check.........cam timing..........or IP timing?

I do nt know what IP timing is so I guess i want to know about cam timing.
