You don't want one from up there anyway.........all rusted out.

You'll need to get one from the Western part of the US..........with the inherent risks of such an approach. But, can you easily import such a vehicle??

We don't use salt on the roads up here, and my 80 and 82 300SD's are both California cars.

It's just that we don't see very many TD's up here, and the ones I see for sale are some idiot meaning Turbo Diesel, not Transport.

You guys are telling me that you can't put 3 small kids in the back of a 190D? I've been looking for one. Never sat in one but the back seat doesn't look that small.

It's not really whether you can, but rather if you want to. Having 3 kids each within an arm's reach of each other would lead to some rather unpleasant trips for me at least. I have put my oldest son and 2 car seats for my 2 younger boys in the back seat of my TD for some short trips, but if you threw my daughter anywhere into that mix replacing one of the boys, all hell would break loose.

I've got to get that 3rd row seat pretty quick to spread them out some.

If your kids thoroughly enjoy each other's company and don't mind sitting next to each other, by all means go for it. In our case with me being 6'3" and the seat all of the way back and my almost 11yo son at about 5'1" there are fairly limited seating arrangements especially if you throw a car seat/booster or two into the mix.

My kids range in age from 8-14 and they hate riding in the 190D. They love the 240D. That back seat IS smaller than the 240D but the main problem is leg room. I don't pick them up from soccer practice in the 190D anymore because of the whining unless I only have one.

With the midsize and large sedans (300D, E300, 300SDL, etc), you'll have no problem with legroom in the rear seat. With the 190, however, you will. Ever been in the back of an A4 Jetta?

With three kids, the back seat will get crowded if you take the whole family on a trip, but there's no way getting around that with a sedan...that's why we've kept our Excursion so long instead of buying a Touareg TDI or an ML320 CDI or something more economical than 14 mpg, the 3rd row seat is indispensable for long trips.

I've got 2 kids, 2 and 5. That's why we have the TD. They each get their own row. Life is good in our car.

In cars of this age, buy the car with the best condition. The exact model is secondary to condition, imho.

one nintey or three hundred, they all are nice designs.
