Lost Vacuum Tube Connection
I INSTALLED A NEW VACUUM CONTROL VALVE (TRANS VACUUM MODULATION VALVE). THE BLACK TUBE FROM BOTTOM OF THE VALVE THAT LEADS TO THE FIRE WALL PULLED OUT AND I CAN NOT FIND A PLACE FOR IT TO GO. THE FACTORY DRAWING SHOWS ONLY (a vent to passenger compartment). CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THE LOCATION FOR THE TUBE AND PURPOSE ??? THANKS

The vacuum control valve "leaks" air into the transmission vacuum line as means of reducing the vacuum level. The black vent line was routed through the firewall so that the VCV would have a relatively clean source of air from the cabin. The vent line normally protrudes slightly through the firewall and does not connect to anything.
On some models, the EGR vacuum line also utilizes the vent line when it "dumps" vacuum at full throttle. |

What car?
If you put the year and model of your Benz in your signature then we won't have to ask "which car?" every time. Click on "User CP" to do that.
