Engine removal screw-up

I was removing the motor from my 79-300cd last night and I had the leveler position wrong initially and the motor would not tilt enough. The motor shifted and bent the area where the hood latches. I had plyboard in front of the A/C radiator, but it bent that area forward. I hope it will be easy to remedy. I guess the removal of the other motor will go better...now.

Any similar experience?

Thanks, Don

Assuming you are talking about the upper radiator support; what Mercedes calls the "stiffening" in the English translated parts catalog. part #123 620 07 72. Most body shops would just tweak it with a come-along after you're all done. Purists would argue that the structural integrity is compromised with even a little tweak...eh. If you really BENT it; cut it out and weld in the above numbered part.
