Lets pass the collection plate and buy it as a group and then just launch it off a cliff in a ball of flames

The wiring job will probably cause the "ball of flames" part for us.

$5 here too, but I hate the thought of the engine going over the cliff with the truck. Can we pull it out first?

Once freed from its cage of wiring, we could sell the engine and maybe recoup a little bit of our $

"free it from its cage of wiring" now that's funny, I don't care who you are. Seriously though shouldn't the ideal purpose of this forum, full as it is of an immense amount of knowledgeable and creative individuals, serve to support all of us who have 123 related issues and challenges. Even those who have strayed beyond the boundaries of stock applications and who may not have OCD when it comes to orderly wiring etc. etc. Its advisable to learn from each others mistakes, and that can't happen if some of us out here aren't making any. Off my soapbox.

Go to Germany sometime and tell me if you EVER see a pickup truck.

(If you do it's 99.9% it's owned by an American GI)

The above is full of very noble thoughts, but our main problem is actually the thought of handing over an actual amount of $$$ for it.......

seriously

With all seriousness. Let's say you live in america and you want a diesel mid sized truck. Please let me know all the options you come up with. You either have an option of buying a passenger car or a huge diesel truck (other than a tiny rabbit truck). For someone who wants a truck with lots of space to carry stuff and loves mercedes and wants to get on average 35 mpg and doesn't mind tinkering than what's the problem. Especially for veggie. This is the ticket.

The Diesel powered 80's Ford Ranger, Chevrolet S10, Toyota Truck, Isuzu Pup, Datsun/Nissan 720, and Mitsubishi MightyMax come to mind.

Hey now....

nothing wrong with a truck if you have work to do.

I really don't get the whole truckie subculture though with various tricking out with things that inhibit work like

extensive lowering
extensive raising with earth mover tires.
running a truck around off road and into creeks and such

and hey impugning my manhood is well ...(what did truckie say?)..... I have a bread loaf down there, man!
