I got mine in Feb- it is metal with plastic mounting plates. There isn't any visible damage on it near where the white paint came off. I guess one perfectly placed pebble can take care of one whole part of the star... not exactly the MB engineering I've grown to love.

I sent mine in and specifically requested a radiator badge.

They sent me a stupid lapel pin instead.

I'm still pissed about it.

I JUST received my 250K

Hi y'all

Wanted to say that I just received my 250K mileage badge just now. They FedEx'ed it with a signature, wouldja believe.

I think it's quite nice, considering my cash outlay (minimal). My badge is of some sort of poured metal. It's rather heavy, so it probably isn't brass. Husband the Mech.Engineer is guessing that it's enamelled not painted. The kit came with a certificate in a nice cover. Also a catalogue for 'classic' yaya stuff. Whatever.

I guess if Chrysler had held onto MB we'd be getting these things of plastic. Apparently since MB went back to the Vaterland the quality is holding.

My experience, y'all's may vary.

Mine also arrived FedEx with signature. Nice package. I clearcoated the badge before mounting it on the grille. No chips so far.

I prefer a horizontal line of badges on the grille to a vertical one (not that I'm anywhere close to getting a second with only 227000 on the '85 -- the '87 isn't even ready for the first one). The picture of that 240D is most impressive.

Visit a friend in the states, take the form to his dealer, have the stuff shipped to his address.

That's what I did. I mailed both applications in the same envelope and received the badges 4 weeks later.
