I just bought a very nice 87 300TD with 175K. It is antracite grey with real palomino leather in fine condition.

Does anyone have a spare exhaust piece to replace the trap oxidizer for an 87? The car has a new exhaust system already by still has the trap. I also would like to not have the existing exhaust replaced with a catalyst downstream.

I can see what my cost on a new one would be though the dealer, I have one of those cars, so I'll just say its for my car and let you have it for my cost. Just let me have the part you replace though

I'm pretty sure you won't like the cost: $750 wholesale, $945 list.

I'd get the whole system replaced by the dealer (free under recall), and if you don't have smog testing in your area, have the cat replaced by a straight pipe at a later date (cut & weld). The underhood decal clearly states "Non-Catalyst" which should pacify at least some muffler shops.

yikes, well my price should be less then wholesale but probably not that much. If its included in the recall, bring it here and I'll do what you want me to on it. in the meantime I'll keep an eye out for one in the parts yards.
