To some extent, but the "mind over matter" thing doesn't do much good when I'm trying to keep up with 20 year olds skiing at 12,000 feet.

WoW!!! Iam 63, and hope I don`t get as old as you guys.

Yeah I got a few aches and pains here and there, but not too bad. It is
a little harder to crawl under the cars and wrench. and pulling the engine 2 wks ago was a little harder than it was a few yrs ago.
good thing I retired a year ago, got to save what little I have left.

there are some parts of me that think Iam still 18, it`s all the other parts
that have a hard time catching up. like new parts on an old car.

Good God, man, you're falling apart! Pull yourself together

I'll be hitting the big four-oh in a few years and you've got me scared to death!

I feel I must apologize for getting a chuckle from many of your threads, schadenfreude isn't usually my thing, but you write them perfectly and it's hard not to. It's kind of like reading a self-inflicted 3 Stooges bit, physical humor and all.

Just keep a healthy supply of Advil on hand!

Yep...Jogging could really break down your knees over time.

Low impact exercise such as walking or swimming work best, IMHO.

I love being 24. At this point in my life, it feels with each passing year I get a little stronger, and gain a bit more nerve. I'm in better shape now than I've ever been in my life.

Of course we'll age and slow down a bit in the future. But we may be able to lessen the effect if we eat right and stay active, eh?

already tore the miniscus a few years ago from the old jog job... back to jogging again but mostly on the treadmill - easier on the knees and back...

what kills my lower back is stooping over the engine for long periods of time - like when doing valve adjustments...

... and the dizzy spells after I crawl from under the car the tenth time...... then theres the Plantar fasciitis...

yeah, ya really gotta watch what ya eat..... but sometimes no matter how hard ya try.... it can be genetics

Aging .....

It has been said that aging is not for p***ys. 45 this year. First time I felt joints popping a few years ago scared me to death ... went to the dr and he says: "you're getting older. Here are some anti-inflammitories."

That was all I needed to know. Don't take any of that stuff, yet. Aches and pains, yes. Harder to carry engine blocks around the garage, yes. A little less stamina, yes. A couple excedrin can still take the edge off enough to allow me to sleep like a baby. Still able to work 7 days a week - and will continue to do so until there is no possible way to get out of the bed in the morning.

This age is not the end all for wrenching in any way, shape, or form.

I ain't stoppin'.

I'll get a knee replacement, if I ever need one, and get back to work!

Wrenchin' forever - or at least until death do us part!

All of the aches and pains is caused from having a JJJJJJJJOB. hard to say
that word anymore. since I retired, the aches and most of the pain is
gone.
we have a Nordic track and a Nordic Rider we use for exercise. that is low
impact exercise, plus walking. Plus jumping everytime the wife says
to jump. I have a very young wife.

Sad but true thread

If you can afford one, Hot tubs are great! Now you will get to know the insides of the pharmacies. Motrin, linaments, DMSO (found in equestrian tack shops) ice packs, ifrared heating lamps, etc.... Gravity sucks

I use to work myself sick because of obsessions like fixing MB's. Be 50 next May, authurs itis, bad disks. The obsession is gone(not the love just the compulsion) thank God. What ever is wrong and not safety related will get fixed when I feel like it and in my time.
