W123 Fender Trim Question...

I also posted this on the "Bodywork" forum, but I feel perhaps more W123 owners could answer it here...

Does anyone know the correct way to re-install the lower trim (near the rockers and jacking holes) on the front fender of a W123.

There are three white nylon clips, just not sure if these clips should be attached to the body first, or if they should be fixed to the trim before installation.

Thanks for all your help in the matter.

The flat white clips should already be on the fender with the "nubs" up and down, aka horizontal position. Then the top of the metal channel on the trim piece itself should slip onto the upper "nubs". Then with pressure the lower part of the piece should pop into place (depending on the parts, it may take a good bit of force, my original 1978 pieces had to go on with a rubber mallet)
