rubber pad for floor jacking?

What's the correct name for the rubber pad at the lift points under the doors?

What section of the EPC has it?

Thanks,
Sixto

rubber pad

this may be unrelated but i put rubber pads on my jackstands and jacks; over a perioid of time you deform metal surfaces if you dont. finally i cut the pads from scrap tires

The correct name is "jacking pads" and they are about $200 from the dealer; I've never seen them available anywhere else. Hence, I do without. They have a solid rod like the regular car jack that slides into the jacking holes. In addition, a rubber pad rests against the bottom of the jacking hole.

Anybody going to Russia?

I need them too. #65 - $5. Called "WORKSHOP LIFTING JACK TAKE-UP DEVICE IN SIDE MEMBER,BOTTOM". I wonder what'd happen if we just put in our CC info and address, probably $20 for the pads and $175 for shipping

I just bought a set for my Passat, $40, they look similar... Hmmm... They even have the center thing that pushes up thru and expands the plug th retain it. I think that's the protruberance in the pic above, that's how they look before you install and push it in.
Here are the Audi/VW pads. I'll see if they fit the MB in the AM.

Sheesh - all that posting I did and McCool300TD SCORES with a MB PN!!! THANKS McCool!! I've needed these forever but nobody responded to MY post.

AND they're available from Fastlane for those of us on the "modern" side of the pond. Thanks for saving us $$$ Fastlane! Choice of 3 brands (if you search for the PN in "special order parts" - I couldn't get that to link)and $4.50 to 6.50 each or maybe different pieces of the same part. They DO seem to be 2-piece as pictured above. Whoever calls Phil first Monday, please let us know.

P.S. the VW/Audi ones DO fit, FWIW. They are lower profile which is nice but not $20 worth of nice!

Hmm... The other 3 on my car are rectangular.

Carrameow, these pads are part of the car so you don't need to pad the jack or stand.

srjulianchivis, I highly doubt what I'm describing is a $200 item unless it's part of something else.

The part I need is the rubber chunk below the jack hole.

On closer look, it's pentagonal.

Yep, the w210 is different. Its a donut with a center insert that holds it in place.

Jacking pads

I have also seen polyurethane pads for one's floor jack - quite substantial looking -- probably someplace expensive like Griot's Garage.

I use a piece of 2x4 cut just small enough to fit in the cup of the floor jack ...

X2 on the 2X4...
I'd like to get some really tough rubber or plastic, groove one side to distribute the weight better on the seams in unibody cars (e.g. PAssat) which they tell you to jack on but which bend easily. Then router out a circle on the jack side for the jack pad. I saw one for sale somewhere in my browsing history; cost prohibited its purchase.
