Can you buy R12 (freon) in Canada??

I know it is virtually impossible to get in the US at a reasonable price, but I was wondering if R12 is still available for sale in Canada. Any Canadian folks on this site that can chime in??

Ebay's a good place. Shipping will prob be more to Canada but ebay prices are about $5-10 cheaper than I can buy it locally.

It is illegal to use R-12 for any automotive application in Canada.

Sorry guys but that's it. Too many shops had shoddy recycling practices and so the feds ended up with a total ban.

Sounds like you need a little road trip to the U.S.

I think all governments try to out-do each other in stupidity

I ran into this law years ago when my old Toyota Previa's AC died for the second time. If I wanted to fix it I would have been forced to convert to R134a as AC shops are not allowed to repair R-12 systems. When they fail they have to be converted.
