It cost me less than $100 and that includes the return hose and injector seats. Lasts 120K

Properly rebuilt injectors are gonna cost alot more than $100, the nozzles are like $30.

Yah, I use it now and then too and it does seem too help but there were a couple of comments on the "down side" that I thought might surface. Guess not.

My injectors were good. Just some accumulation on the pintles and so the bad pattern and low pressure. Taking the one "bad" one out and cleaning it fixed it. All the others had good pattern. Nozzles were fine so no replacement needed.

Exactly what DP helps with; minor cleaning and maintenance. As you've never used it you'll never know if it might have solved the lil cleaning issue your's needed.

Only costs $6 to find out.

It was running fine before I took the injectors out. Wife said it ran better after the cleaning but it is still poochy to me. The only issue with DP is that you have to spend time to hook up the lines every now and then. Also you might disturb the lines already in place and cause a problem. With the 606, it is a problem.

Even if I did it, you won't KNOW unless you have a dirty injector, run it, test it again after the run. You think it will help but people have been fooled by placebos in the past. Look at the kids who swear they have 30HP more after installing this magic exhaust or that spark plug.

That is why I say that it is best to take it out every say 100K and have it tested. That way you know for sure it is ok or not. Also, you are not guessing. DP is a maintenance that nobody has documented as far as efficacy. Like I said, even with using it, you still don't know unless you take out the injector and have it tested before and after.

Problem with injectors is that they don't fail NOW. They get worse and worse over time so you get more and more used to the way the car runs and don't think it is screwed up until it is really bad.

Pretty difinitive statements from someone who has never even used it.

Although neither of my cars has ever had an inj pulled, I am open minded enough that I own my own pop tester so that in the event that they need to be tested one day they can be.

Define when the cleaning is done. This running of it is effort every now and then. Might as well save time and do it right. Cleaning with DP is like sweeping a floor in the dark. Either way, you can't be sure what is cleaned and what isn't. Pulling the injector and testing is a DEFINATE way of doing it. If it is dirty, disassemble and clean and/or replace worn parts. Clean with DP all day long and you will never KNOW for sure when it is done.

Well, when you find out it is clogged, run the DP and retest. That way we will KNOW if it works as opposed to a SWAG.

My hunch is that DP is something that pleases the DIY kinda guy. This is one more item a guy in independent in. Me, I'm the kind that if given a choice, I want to KNOW for sure. Pulling the injectors and having them tested and cleaned lets me KNOW that the injector is good or if there are any problems. IOW, certainty. Doing the DP is one of those uncertainties to me. Maybe it is clean and maybe there is a little lingering. I categorically dismiss the SOTP dyno results. With DP, there will always be doubt forcing me to rely on how I feel after the job. With the tester, I can see the answers right in front of me. One case is a guess and one case is a certainty. As such, I will always go with the certainty.
