Glowplugs question 300sd
Why do I go trough glowplugs every 6 months or so? my controller is new ,but I noticed the tips were worn ! thanks J

Iknow that it is possible for bad injectors to burn the tips of glow plugs if they dribble Steve

What brand of GPs are you using? Allot of carbon in the pre combustion chamber can cause them to die fast. I would try "reaming" the holes. Maybe use a test light too make sure they are not on all the time.

I use to wonder about that, then I noticed that some of them come with a rounded tip, some with a conical. Are you sure it didn't look like that when it went in? Or is it oddly and noticeably damaged?

I use Bosch plugs, and they have a rounded end, when they die they are rounded , but one side is worn down, I am sure its not from being on two long !
