ACT rims. They are OEM for BMW in the late 80s early 90s I believe, however these are for Mercedes. 225 60 15. I am going to put on 225 50/55 15 when I get back from Germany in prep for the vogtland spring installs. I haven't washed the car or wheels since I bought them, working on drivetrain first. They are pretty deep dish probably about 2" and wider than any of the ones I have seen on beamers. Can't wait to polish them and get the car repainted.

It's a diamond, and it isn't that rough either.

Nothing quite like a EURO diesel with manual and one in last year of production; the gray market for them was still booming but that was near to when when the gravy train ended
and for all intents ad purposes the gray marked collapsed in '86

Looks like this was one of the last ones to make it over before the door shut.

It is indeed. Was that at the last NoCal gtg in the east bay? Missed that one

I ran with Prez808 (Eric) and his wagon a bit when they had the big Diesel cruise in Marin County back in January and don't actually recall yours....but there were so many 123 diesels there it made me dizzy....

Its not a gray market, hence the "EuroFed". Its an om617.952 with manual and all the euro trimmings . I am going to add some Hella lights to the front as well for the rallyish look.

Thanks for the compliments everyone make me feel better about her.

Ahh, you dropped the manual transmission in it? I missed "euroFed" - thought that meant is was a "Federalised Euro vehicle"

I was under the impression that for '85 all you could buy new in the US was a turbodiesel automatic. But yours would be pretty snappy, and a LOT more fun to drive than an automatic. Or a 240 to be honest.

So you put on the euro lights and bumpers and wheels yourself. Lots of those euros had wind deflectors too. Good choices for the wheels and lights, I would reckon. A euro trailer hitch practically screams this car REALLY lived and worked in Europe once (LOL-- for people who notice things like that.)

To make it look like a real Euro, I guess you would need to remove the DIESEL trunk script but leave the 300D script on. --- Or take that off, too, for the "Anti terrorist/hijacking" badge delete option that many Europeans took. Though I would guess that terrorists probably wouldn't go after Diesels too much, better the 280 gasser, to be quicker LOL

The manual tranny with 109k, tow package and warning triangle came from a 200D. The drive shaft and linkage came from my old daily driver euro 300d NA. The lights came from ebay.

Cost so far.

$550 300D federal car
-$150 sold transmission
$500 200D parts car
$250 wheels
$1100 300D NA Euro (which was my daily driver for over a year)
-$600 sold 200D and 300D euros
-$150 for 1 set euro bumpers
$60 pair of euro headlights
-------------
$1560 so far give or take. Not bad for a hobby.

Average trip to lawyer for me? $3000. Price of hobbies that keep me out of trouble? Priceless.

And the kicker? Parking at work is $120/mo. LOL.

That is just amazing. What a story. You are a fanatic -- in the BEST way possible. Your car showcases so many of the best Euro features on these, it is very impressive....and instructive, too.

I am waaaaaay impressed

This one is a keeper

I also have a set of 15" ACT wheels on my 230CE right now. I've never seen another set until now.
