In the Nazi state of Virginia and in the heavily-video-monitored state of Maryland, the law requiring a front plate is sharply enforced. This is because the front plate makes the photo radar and red light cameras function more consistently from more angles.

I know people who have been stopped for nothing but that issue.

They're bad in Minnesota too.

My wife was stopped *just* for not having a front plate. I got one while it was parked on the street.

Pretty interesting resonses here. Thanks everyone.

Front license plates feed the Red light cameras in California. Gotta keep them happy

Violations there are about $10, so some fanatics simply leave them off, it takes a heap of tickets to equal cost of having the front bumper filled and a bracket mounted on top of it

The cops aren't looking to write you for that, but if you got stopped for something else and cop an attitude, they will start "stacking" the violations and you will get one for this.

I prefer to keep legal.

This looks like this might do it.

In most states it will cost you at least $50. I got dinged in Minnesota and the ticket was over $100.

$70 in CT.
Thanks
No sense asking for trouble.
A thing like that is an invitation for trouble

Down here in LA
they dress up like Santa Claus & the Easter Bunny
They stand at crosswalks trying to make money
They hide in shadows to catch the speeder
Well perhaps that helps keep the road safer

Santa got me once

pulled me over
handed me a $100 plus ticket
thats a moving violation
faced points & driving school

I appealed it
I had my story
I had it to the chips
Anyway it got dismissed as arresting officer neglected to include Santa's real name.
Judge was not too happy with him
but I got off
I think maybe he felt sorry for me
Maybe he made that mistake on purpose
or there was some higher power working
like he was getting dizzy from writing tickets that day
Had it set up all morning. A cop on both sides
One was pulled over ont the other side while I was getting my ticket.
The news was taking pictures
I got intterviewed.
I stayed parked & watched the next one get pulled over
I even spoke w him trying to figure a way out o the Santa Sting

I had never gotten a ticket before
It was very traumatic for me

I told the officer my reasons
Santa's stand on corners during xmas season all the time
how the heck was I to know he wanted to cross?
When I realized he was stepping off the curb
I felt I was too close to safely stop
& Santa was in No danger.
I didn't know in that split second if someone was behind me
putting myself & the other driver in danger
Still worse I might have lost control of the car
a brake skid & heaven forbid I run over Santa a few days before xmas...

Still there was no xmas for me
it really ruined my xmas.

Bad Bad Santa!!!!

They say its entrapment amyway I was going to make a case
on a few things.
Santa standing on a corner at xmas to me is not unusual.
There also was a huge high busstop bench that blocked Santas view.
I thought it was better to safely pass than to risk accident & bodily harm to myself, other cars & perhaps Santa...
I had pics
I was ready to defend myself
but I didn't have too...

That looks good but it seems as if I will have to get to through the back to attach it.

I have to figure out hpw to access that without messing with the trunk wall.

Thanks

From the way it looks, it doesn't appear any mod to the back of the trunk wall will be neccesary. To me, it looks like you just attach it to the Euro mount points, and put a US plate on the top.

I'll have to check the 2 bottom holes
they have something in it but I don't know how it work
Maybe a self tapping screw will fit in $ secure it?

And I thought Suginami was joking when he said that in Los Angeles the cell phone towers are FAKE palm trees.

apparently he wasn't

Hey, that gives me an idea. How do you think that would look on the hood of my car?
