real challenge

OK, I think I have a question that just might stump the pros on here. I have a '92 300D with the 124 chasis and it runs great most of the time. However, when I hit bumps, such as going over railroad tracks, it stalls. Sometimes the stall is bad enough that the car dies, but most of the time it just loses power for a second or two. The car starts back up immediately if and when I have to use the starter. Any ideas on what could be causing the car to stall?

Is the stop lever loose and engaging on the bump? Or, is a bump engaging the vacuum shut off for some reason?

The idle is computer controlled, it may be coming loose and lowering the idle to a point it can't say running.

The stop lever doesn't seem to be having any problems, but I'll check it the next time it happens (assuming I'm not in the middle of traffic). Is there anyway I can check the computer controlled idle to determine if that is the problem?

Any tips on troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated.
