Fuel Pressure Question...
Hi,
I just joined this forum. I am currently starting to convert my '84 190D for WVO. I started by re-plumbing the diesel circuit to pull thru the main filter rather than push. My question is: do I need to a return line or some kind of pressure relief between the lift pump and the injector pump? Will the lift pump develop too much pressure if it just pumps directly into the injector pump? Thanks for any input... |

There is a pressure regulator built-into the injection pump.

Great! Thanks so much. So that must be the fuel line that comes from the inner side of the injector pump back to the 3rd port on the fuel filter. By the way, is that 3rd port just directly connected to the output side of the filter?

The third port just connects with the injector leak off lines and returns to the tank.

Thanks Lance... I also just found a great explanation of the "air purge" function of the 3rd port.
