pearl black 1983 240d 4speed (Converted!@$$%) atleast the tranny was rebuilt.

100%. There was never a 3-speed manual in the W123.

If there was, it was probably in the early (Late 60's) 220D. However, the listing says its specifically for a W123.

Look closely at the knob and you can see the "4" outline.

Nope, not in manual form. They were all 4 speeds too. The automatics were all 4 speeds.

I have driven a 180D, a 190D, a 240D 115, and my 24oD 123 -- they were all 4 speeds ...

Don't worry about it.

Here's why. That stupid Ebayer is going to sell that 3 speed handle to the same idiot he is going to sell the 3 speed linkage to. Just watch it.
