Owning both an 84 euro 300TD turbo and an 85 US federal 300TD turbo, I can confirm all the above.

Both have an MW injection pump.

Different intake/exhaust manifolds, KKK turbo, valve cover breather routed straight to the turbo U-tube (with a side tube to the bottom of the air cleaner).

The euro definitely consumes more oil, but I can't say that its due soley to the lack of an oil separator.

I've got one too, if you want any specific pics, just ask.

No oil return pipe to the oil pan of course as stated above, b/c of no oil seperator.

It has an ALDA? Perhaps it is just an ADA?

So how does the oil return to the sump? Like I mentioned (and it was confirmed) the breather hose goes under the air cleaner. Then where does it go? I thought it had an oil separator...

ALDA. The plastic line was very likely melted away in that picture.

The only oil separator on mine is inside the valve cover, its the same as the internal setup on the US version. So, basically there is no oil separator. The breather hose goes from the valve cover to the turbo inlet U-tube, with a t-fitting to the bottom of the air cleaner for atmospheric pressure normalization. There is no oil return line for the breather tube.

The breather hose routing looks like this:

DISCLAIMER: This is not my engine, it is the engine of my neighbor's car which amazingly enough is an identical 84 euro 300TD turbo (down to the color combination and options). They were imported into the US as part of the same group of 8 cars. I stumbled across it one day less than a mile from my house. Its for sale by the way ($650).

Yup, pretty much what the routing on mine is like from the factory. It seems with the 300D 2.5T they went backwards with the emissions stuff...there is no cat, the blowby gas is burned, etc. I've heard though that the computer controlled emissions (EGR, flapper valve, boost pressure, etc) cleaned it up enough to eliminate those items.
