When i replaced the radiator on my 300SD, i also took out my resovior and sprayed it out quite thouroughly, even took out that little plastic white thing to get into that area of it. WHen i did that a whole bunch of brownish, blackish mudlike substance came out, that also had some chunks of rust in it. It took me about 15 minutes of spraying until i got it acceptably clean. The old radiator also had all of this in it as well. Is this rust most likely just from the old/deteriorating radiator? I noticed now that my car is fineally operating at normal temp. Also, ever since i replaced the radiator after about 45 mins of driving a coolant like smell starts to enter the cabin. It's so strong it has made me pull over 3 times to make sure somethign wasn't wrong. I also replaced one of the hoses when i replaced the radiator. do new radiators have a funky smell to them? if so how long does it take for this smell to go away? thanks in advance
